Battery Disposal and Refund Information

In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:

Important Information for End Users

According to EU Regulation 2019/1148, all acid batteries are filled and sealed before shipping. Maintenance-free MF and gel batteries are also pre-filled and sealed. Checking, removing, or refilling battery acid is neither necessary nor possible.

Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries. You can either send them back to us (Packeta.de, 92467716, Schloßplatz 2, 08648 Bad Brambach) or return them free of charge to a nearby collection point (e.g., in stores or municipal collection sites).

In connection with the sale of vehicle batteries to end users, we are additionally required under § 10 BattG to charge a deposit of €7.50 (including VAT) per vehicle battery if the end user does not return an old vehicle battery at the time of purchasing a new one.

We are obliged to refund the deposit if you return an old vehicle battery to us (Packeta.de, 92467716, Schloßplatz 2, 08648 Bad Brambach). Additionally, we are required to refund the deposit if you return an old vehicle battery to another battery retailer, a public waste disposal facility, or an operator of an end-of-life vehicle treatment facility under the End-of-Life Vehicle Ordinance. In such cases, you must present us with a written or electronic proof of return that is no older than two weeks at the time of submission.

If you belong to a commercial or other economic enterprise or are a public institution, you also have the option of disposing of the vehicle battery directly with the manufacturer or with commercial battery disposal companies. In this case, you will receive the deposit refund from us upon presenting a written or electronic proof of return issued by these entities, provided that the proof is no older than two weeks at the time of submission.
