Meteor pistons, designed for two-stroke engines, are made from cast aluminum alloy with 18% silicon content. Thanks to the admixture of silicon, the thermal expansion of the piston is significantly nullified, and thus it can operate in very harsh conditions. This guarantees long and trouble-free operation. In addition, they undergo a process of annealing and sputtering with a layer of molybdenum. Piston rings supplied in the set come from the Japanese manufacturer, or the Italian company Caber.
Pistons 4T (4-stroke)Meteor pistons, designed for four-stroke engines, are produced by casting and then forging technology, from an aluminum alloy with 13% silicon content. In addition, they are subjected to a process of annealing and sputtering with a layer of molybdenum and graphite (to reduce the coefficient of friction during operation). They are also subjected to an anodizing process, which significantly affects the hardness of the material. Piston rings are made in Japan.
