The shield is made of very good silicone and actually does not melt. Unfortunately, with the serial muffler on the Husqvarna 701 Enduro, the shield has arms that are too short, so that the plastic triptychs from the kit can melt (I replaced them with metal ones). A recommendable product, but you should be sure about the circumference of the muffler.
