Everything ok, I recommend for CB500 - fits perfectly. The heat sink provides adequate cooling, the factory one did not have it and there was a problem.
About a year ago I installed a colleague in a Honda CB500 - probably 1998.To this day he does not complain. Recently another colleague had a charging problem (also CB500, 1999) and asked for advice (the previous regulator - "more branded", read much more expensive - seemed to overcharge the battery [colleague's opinion, I did not check]. It turned out that everything was OK, the one evaluated remained stock).
In both cases, the spacing of the mounting holes did not fit very well, but it's 0.6 mm max - just "lick" the housing with a suitable conifer.
There could be a little more charging voltage (original :14.5 V, evaluated : 14.17 and 14, 22 V - two copies).
If someone "embraces currents" and would like to check the reg. "dry", just like the "classic" ones. - regulated power supply, bulb voltmeter - then you may be strongly surprised. But after installation in the motorcycle everything OK. Probably some "more advanced" technology (perhaps - it's a little undervoltage is also not always so ?) Considering the price / quality ratio - I recommend. In general - in Hondas (at least of these vintages) you need to take care of the charging installation. Most often the problems begin at the connectors of the 3 yellow cables from the alternator. Corrosion, oxidation, increase in resistance, overheating, the rectifier-regulator begins to overheat, the internal electronics fall apart, no longer regulate the voltage and we have a "bubble" from the battery. It is worth checking these areas carefully.
With Hondas (CB500, Transalp) I have done a little more than 80 kkm, and also a little at colleagues' repair.
I bought a NITRO NTZ7S SLA battery from gmoto.fr, the battery is brand new, well packaged, with instructions for top-notch assembly. I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you, as indicated in the instructions, to charge the battery as soon as it arrives before fitting it, using a charge-holding device, or simply by riding it for at least thirty kilometers. Otherwise, since my little motorcycle, Varadero 125 cm3, starts at the quarter turn and I chain the ballads, then good road to all and do not have any hesitation on the battery NITRO NTZ7S SLA because it is with the top...
The battery fits my Derbi Mulhacen 125 perfectly. Due to the fact that it is gel it is dedicated to my motorcycle because it is mounted lying down (90 degrees) and fits exactly in the place designated for it. The capacity and size of the starting current is matched and you can "ride"!
Honda CB 500 S, 1999.
Before replacement charging only above 3000 rpm at slow 12.3 volts without load, after replacement 14.3 volts after load 14.1-14 volts (you would have to check the battery and the pradnic-alternator itself before you proceed with the replacement)
In summary - good purchase quality / price
I recommend
Elegantly fired up the Honda immediately after installation. Replacement trivially easy. Battery charged. A little too small for the pocket in the 2008 Honda shadow 125 c but the foam added to the kit made up the space.
I recommend ;-)
Hey I was surprised..about the good quality of the battery for this price..I have a Honda Shadow 125 .you realize when you. The bike starts .how powerful the battery is.
Very good material received well packaged all times the follow-up of order is a little hazardous in spite of everything the deliveryman put the parcel in place on thank you.
The product overall as described, aesthetically made, a little worse with the fit, you had to do a little "work" on the installation of the shades into the fixtures.
